The North Sea Traffic Museum

Telavågvegen,Vestland,Telavåg 5380,Øygarden

Business Details

The Nordsjøfartmuseet is located in Telavåg on the island of Sotra west of Bergen. During the Second World War, Telavåg was one of the hubs in the North Sea - the illegal boat traffic between Norway and Great Britain. On 26 April 1942, two German officers were shot by Norwegian agents in Telavåg. The Germans reacted with serious reprisals. All adult men were sent to German concentration camps, while women and children were interned at Framnes in Hardanger. Then the whole village was razed to the ground!
